More cops suspected of helping criminals

The Oost-Nederland police arrested two police officers on suspicion of violating their official confidentiality. They are suspected of participating in a criminal partnership, RTL Nieuws reports.

Exactly what they are suspected of doing, was not revealed. But according to RTL, there are suspicious that they shared confidential information with suspects arrested early last month during a major police action against a criminal network in Almelo. This action was directed against organized cannabis cultivation in the Nieuwstraatkwartier.

The two arrested officers both live in Almelo. One works at the police team in Gelderland, the other in Overijssel.
