Skull found in Putten forest

A hiker found a skull in the forest near Garderenseweg in Putten on on Saturday. The police are investigating, but it may be another two or three weeks before more information is available, a spokesperson said to De Stentor.

The police did a forensic investigation at the scene of the discovery, and the skull was sent to the Netherlands Forensic Institute for further investigation.

At this stage very little is known, not even if it is a human skull or an animal one. That can't be determined just by looking at it, according to the police spokesperson. "We must know for sure before we draw conclusions", she said to the newspaper. "Presumptions, that's not what we do."
