Speedboat collides with tanker in Amsterdam; 7 hurt

A speedboat and a tanker collided with each other at the mouth of the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal and the IJ during the early hours of Saturday morning. Seven people were injured, four of whom sustained serious injuries, ANP reports.

The injured people were all on the speedboat, which was sailing at high speed. An alcohol test was done on the captain of the speedboat, because the police suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol.

The accident happened around 00:45 a.m. on Saturday. The speedboat was seriously damaged, the tanker's damages were minor.
