Body found in Amsterdam waterway

A body was found in the waterway along Weesperzijde in Amsterdam Oost on Wednesday morning. The police cordoned off the area and are investigating.

The body was found in the water near Cafe de Omval, according to Amsterdam broadcaster AT5. Divers from the fire department area also at the scene.

So far nothing is known about the identity of the victim or the circumstances under which the body was found.
