Prince Harry to attend global AIDS conference in Amsterdam

International AIDS conference AIDS2018 is starting in Amsterdam on Monday. In addition to scientists and policymakers, expected attendees include big names like Britain's Prince Harry, the Netherlands' Princess Mabel, former United States president Bill Clinton, and Eurivision winner Conchita Wurst, the Telegraaf reports.

The theme for AIDS2018 is 'Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges'.

Clinton will represent his charity organization Clinton Foundation at the conference. Prince Harry is attending on behalf of his own foundation Sentebale, which has been working for underprivileged children with HIV in Africa for over 10 years. Princess Mabel is expected to participate in the Towards ZERO Together AIDS walk.

There will also be the Positive Flame torchlight march through Amsterdam on Wednesday, to call for attention for people with HIV. HIV positive patients of all ages will participate. On Thursday there will be a sponsored bike trip to raise money for HIV+ children and expectant mothers, and for bicycles for aid workers in Zimbabwe.
