Queen Maxima's sister not killed in crime

The first results of forensic investigation revealed that Inés Zorreguieta, Queen Maxima's younger sister, was not killed in a crime. This was evident from an autopsy done on Ines' body, as is customary when suicide is suspected, RTL Nieuws reports.

Inés, 33, was found dead in her apartment in Buenos Aires by her mother and a friend who went to check on her after being unable to reach her, according to the broadcaster. Government information service Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst said on Thursday that she likely committed suicide. Inés suffered from depression and was previously admitted due to anorexia.

The Dutch Royal Family is traveling to Buenos Aires on Friday. Argentinean president Mauricio Macri expressed his condolences to Maxima. In an obituary he said that he "joins Maxima and the entire family in this sad time".

Those in the Netherlands who are suffering from depression or contemplating suicide may call counselors at Sensoor, 0900-0767 (5 ct./min.), or call their volunteers at a local number. A list of suicide crisis hotlines outside the Netherlands is available on Wikipedia.
