Girl, 12, tied to tree in small Dutch town; police investigate

The police are investigating a report of a man tying a 12-year-old girl to a tree in the Gelderland town of Emst on Monday night, Omroep Gelderland reports.

The incident happened near the playing field on Dominee van Rijnstraat in Emst. The girl managed to free herself and call her mother.

The police would like to talk to anyone who saw anything strange, or have surveillance camera footage of the area, between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Monday.
