€30,000 reward offered in Zoetermeer double assassination
The police offered a 30 thousand euros reward for information that leads to the solving of the murders of a father and son in Zoetermeer last year. 49-year-old Rene van Doorn and his 23-year-old son, also called Rene, were gunned down while sitting in their car on the parking lot of a gym in the Zoeterhage industrial complex, ANP reports.
The double assassination happened around 11:00 a.m. on April 25th, 2017. The two victims arrived at the parking lot on Edisonsstraat, they planned to work out that morning. Surveillance camera footage show a perpetrator getting out of a parked BMW, walking to the victims' car and shooting them with an automatic weapon. After the shooting, the gunman and driver fled. The getaway car was later found burning.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but the father and son could not be saved. They died in their car.
Multiple suspects have been arrested in this case, but they have all since been released.
According to the police, both gunman and driver have tanned skin and are believed to be of North African descent. The gunman is estimated to be between 28 and 35 years old, is about 1.8 meters tall, has dark, curly hair and a stout posture. He moved oddly on the surveillance camera footage and the police believe he could not stand properly on his one leg. The driver of the BMW is estimated to be between 20 and 25 years old. He has dark hair and a slim figure.
