A man fell around five meters while working on the telecom in the church tower of H. Martinus Church in Velddriel on Monday morning. He was taken to hospital. His condition is unknown, De Gelderlander reports.

The man fell from the third to the second floor and landed in a hard to reach place, at a height of around 15 meters. Emergency services, including an air ambulance and a height rescue team from Rotterdam, were dispatched to the scene.

The rescue team worked their way up to the man, after which he was brought down with the help of the fire department. The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance.
