Ex prosecutor, 10 others prosecuted for underage prostitution

A total of 11 men, including former deputy chief prosecutor Vincent L., are being prosecuted for having paid sex with an underage boy, the Public Prosecutor announced on Thursday.

The suspects are from Amsterdam and Amstelveen and between the ages of 38 and 61 years old. According to the Prosecutor, they had sex with the underage boy independently from each other. They were arrested between February and July last year and are no longer in custody.

This case came to light when the boy's parents found disturbing messages on his smartphone in January last year and took it to the police, according to news wire ANP.

A spokesperson for the Public Prosecutor told the news wire that six men are accused of having paid sex with the boy before he turned 16. The rest are suspected of doing so after he turned 16. Former prosecutor L. is among the latter group.

L. was suspended after this suspicion against him came to light last year. He was officially fired on January 1st, 2018.
