Woman seriously injured in Veghel stabbing; one arrested

A woman was seriously injured in a stabbing in a home on Bosven in Veghel on Sunday night. A man was arrested in the home in connection with the stabbing, Omroep Brabant reports.

The victim was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, an air ambulance was dispatched. "The condition of the woman is very serious", the police said, according to the broadcaster.

The motive for the stabbing is as yet unclear. Forensic specialists were sent to the scene to investigate. The police expect that the investigation may take some time.
