Man, 28, arrested for transgender woman's murder in Arnhem

A 28-year-old man from Ede was arrested on Wednesday morning on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a 32-year-old transgender woman in Arnhem, the police announced. Exactly what role the police believe he played in Bianca from Venezuela's death, is not clear. He was arrested in Veenendaal, AD reports.

After the arrest, the police searched three homes in Ede, Veenendaal and Arnhem.

The victim worked as a prostitute. She was stabbed to death on Friday morning in a home on Van Oldenbarneveldstraat.

The police call on anyone who knew the victim to contact them. "Getting to know the victim better is an important aspect [of the investigation], according to the police.
