Man arrested for Amsterdam woman's disappearance, also suspected of 2004 murder

A 44-year-old man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Sabrina Oosterbeek from Amsterdam in March, is now also suspected of murdering another woman in Amsterdam Zuidoost in 2004, the judiciary announced on Monday, AT5 reports.

Oosterbeek disappeared after leaving her Amsterdam apartment around 2:45 a.m. on March 8th of this year. Suspect S.W. was arrested in June. No trace of the 30-year-old woman has ever been found, but the Public Prosecutor believes there is enough evidence to prove that she was murdered by S.W. The Amsterdam man is also suspected of hiding Oosterbeek's body.

After investigation, the authorities now also believe that S.W. murdered 30-year-old Mirela Mos in 2004. The Romanian woman's body was found in Zuidoost on November 15th, 2004. Her body had been cut into several pieces and left in garbage bags under a tree on Wamelstraat.

S.W. denies involvement in both cases, his lawyer said to AT5. According to the lawyer, the Public Prosecutor is trying to link his client to the 2004 murder with DNA evidence. That evidence will be "subject of discussion", the lawyer said. He also said that his client and Oosterbeek knew each other, but would not elaborate on that statement.
