Teacher accused of asking students for 'dick pics' also suspected of sexually abusing nephew, 7
A 24-year-old teacher from Eindhoven, who was arrested in June for asking students to send him "dick pics" in exchange for higher grades, is also suspected of sexually abusing his 7-year-old nephew, the Public Prosecutor revealed in a pro-forma hearing in the court in Den Bosch on Friday, Omroep Brabant reports.
The sexual abuse of his nephew happened in 2015, according to the Prosecutor. Daan V. is also suspected of possessing child pornography - a number of photos and videos, according to the broadcaster.
V. denies abusing his nephew but acknowledges that he crossed a line in messages to three students, he said in court, according to RTL Nieuws. "I crossed a moral boundary and behaved like a complete idiot", he said.
Despite objections from the Public Prosecutor, the court ruled that V. can be released from custody and await his trial in freedom. He will be released on Monday. This is on the condition that he agrees to undergo psychological examination and accept treatment if it proves necessary.
The Eindhoven man's trial will start on January 19th.
