Man found dead after fight in Enschede home; three arrested

A man was found dead in a home on Kremersmaten in Enschede on Wednesday night. The police responded to the home after receiving a report of a fight. Three people, who were in the home at the time, were arrested, ANP reports.

No information was released about the cause of the man's death or the circumstances surrounding the fight.

The home involved is rented by Antillean people, local residents told Tubantia. One local resident heard shouting from the home when he let his dog out at 9:00 p.m., an hour before the police arrived. "There was clearly something going on, and not for the first time", he said to the newspaper. "That it got so out of hand doesn't surprise me."

Danielle de Vries, chairman of the neighborhood association, is sorry that the neighborhood is again in the news for a violent incident. "Unpleasant things happen here every so often. Last year there was a stabbing, also on Kremersmaten. The only thing you can do is inform people as well as possible. That's why I'm here. That's partly why we also set up a neighborhood prevention app", she said to the newspaper.
