Rotterdam police intervenes in breakup fight; ex's possessions thrown onto street
The Rotterdam police had to intervene in a breakup on Sunday night after an angry woman started throwing her ex's belongings from a top floor apartment to the street below. A number of cars parked on West Kruiskade were damaged and Van Speykstraat had to be closed while the rubble was cleaned up, AD reports.
A large number of bystanders gathered to see the meltdown. They told the police that the woman was angry because her boyfriend decided to end the relationship. Pieces of furniture, plasma screens, plants, paintings and baskets ended up smashed on Van Speykstraat. A community police officer posted a picture of the rubble on Twitter.
The police forced their way into the apartment and arrested the woman. Municipal cleanup company Roteb was called in to clear away the mess. Van Speykestraat was closed to traffic while this happened.
