Dutch police struggle to identify murder victim; Public asked for help

The police are still struggling to identify a man found murdered in Roosendaal last week. Photos of the victim were therefore released in the hopes information from the public may help find this man's identity.

The man's body was found hidden under a tarp on Turfvaartsestraat last week Wednesday. An autopsy on his body on Friday revealed that he was murdered.

The victim is a white man with brown hair. He is 1.83 meters tall and weighs 82 kilograms. He is missing some teeth and has old scars on his lower arms. He was wearing a gold necklace with a cross, a Victorinox watch and a Fossil bracelet when he was found. Photos of the victim can be seen on the police site.

The police would like to speak to anyone who recognizes the man or saw him in the days before June 14th. Investigators also want to make contact with anyone who saw anything suspicious on Turfvaartsestraat or in the Roosendaal area on June 13th or 14th.

This case was discussed on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday night. The police received 23 tips following the broadcast. "In almost all tips names were mentioned. There were many different names, but in some cases the same name was mentioned", the police said in a statement. The investigation team is looking into every tip.
