Russian murder suspect caught at Schiphol
A 30-year-old Russian wanted in Belgium for murder was caught at Schiphol airport. The Koninklijke Marechaussee arrested him on Wednesday, AD reports.
The Russian man was caught while sitting in a car outside the airport. The Koninklijke Marechaussee - a policing force that works as part of the Dutch military and is responsible for airport security - decided to check the man because they found it suspicious that he was lingering outside of the airport for so long.
When the Marechaussee checked the man's identity on their computer system, they discovered that he was wanted in Belgium. The suspect was handed over to the Public Prosecutor. Belgium filed a request for his extradition.
