Suspect claims innocence in webcam child sex abuse trial
Suspected pedophile Aydin C. from Tilburg claims that he is innocent, he said in the court in Amsterdam on Wednesday. He is accused of convincing dozens of underage girls from various countries to undress in front of a webcam and then blackmailing between 2008 and 2014. He would say nothing further. "I'll wait to have the last word", C. said, according to newspaper AD.
C.'s most well known victim is Canadian teen Amanda Todd, who committed suicide in 2012 after posting a video on YouTube in which she tells her story. The Amanda Todd case is not part of this trial. Her case will be handled in Canada at a later date.
Despite C. refusing to talk to the authorities, the police collected a lot of evidence from his computer, using among other things a program that tracked his computer activity. He used numerous online alias on 96 different accounts. He mostly posed as a woman, but sometimes as a handsome boy around the age of 18. One of the accounts was under the name "Tyler Boo", which is the account used to blackmail Amanda Todd. He sometimes chatted to underage girls for years before eventually convincing them to strip naked on camera. Then he blackmailed them. On various of C.'s hard drives the authorities found 204 thousand pornographic images.
According to the judiciary, C. used a program called ManyCam to trick girls into thinking they were chatting in real time with a blonde woman, who was also posing naked. In that way he convinced girls to undress as well. The authorities believe the woman to be porn actress Lily Luck.
The court scheduled 8 hearing days for the trial against Aydin C.
