Rotterdam father assaults ex, kidnaps toddler

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon for assaulting his ex and abductin their 2-year-old child, AD reports.

The Rotterdam police responded to a call from a 32-year-old woman around 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. She told the police that her ex assaulted her in her home on Oldegaarde and took their child.

At the scene police officers found the woman with "signficant injuries".

A manhunt was immediately launched as the man does not have custody of the child. The man and child was found in a home on Watergeusstraat in the early afternoon.

The man was arrested and the child was returned to the mother.
