Attempted kidnapping in Delft leads to two arrests; Police looking for third person
One person was assaulted during an attempted kidnapping in Delft on Thursday night. Two people connected with the case were arrested overnight, and a third person of interest was still being sought on Friday afternoon.
The victim was assaulted by occupants of a "suspicious black van" during the kidnapping attempt, police said. He was identified as a 41-year-old from Rotterdam. The man was treated for his injuries in the hospital.
The incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. on Reinier de Graafweg in front of a hospital in the city's Buitenhof district. "Later in the night, the police in Rijswijk were able to make two arrests in connection with this incident," police said on Friday.
"However, the police are still looking for another possible suspect." Authorities asked anyone who may have seen the van parked or driving in the area to contact them.
Specifically, those who were in Delft and Rijswijk were asked to get in touch with police if they saw the van. Anyone with camera footage from the area should contact detectives, police said.
