Belgium releases 6 suspected of Thalys Amsterdam train attack plot

On Monday the Belgian authorities released six suspects connected to a foiled attack on a Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris in August last year, ANP reports. The six suspects were arrested after police raids at six houses in and around Brussels earlier that day. No explosives or weapons were found. The suspects were released after questioning later on Monday. They were not indicted, the federal prosecutor stated. The Thalys train attack happened on August 21st last year. A heavily armed 26-year-old man of Moroccan descent got onto a Thalys train at a station in Brussels. The train was traveling from Amsterdam to Paris. Three American soldiers managed to overpower the man and prevented a bloodbath. He was handed over to the French police. The soldiers were honored for their brave intervention in Belgium, France and Paris.
