No more Connexxion buses in Almere neighborhood after several weekend attacks

A group of about 20 young people attacked various Connexxion buses by pelting them with stones in the Almere neighborhood of Kruidenwijk over the weekend. The public transport company therefore decided to stop their buses traveling through the neighborhood with immediate effect, NOS reports. On Sunday night a bus carrying two security guards was pelted by stones. On Saturday night and Friday night passenger buses were targeted. Connexxion is "fed up with the stone throwers", a spokesperson said to the broadcaster. The public transporter will therefore no longer provide bus transport through Kruidenwijk, starting immediately. Passengers from within the neighborhood will have to arrange alternative transportation. Connexxion is consulting with Mayor Frank Weerwind on the matter.
