V&D brand gets second life as online store

The V&D brand name is getting another chance. The bankruptcy administrators reached an agreement with three entrepreneurs about taking over the brand rights. They plan to open a V&D online store, NU.nl reports. The brand name is being sold to Retail Venures Holding - a joint venture involving Rolan Kahn and Jaco Schefffers known for Cool Investments, the company behind CoolCat cloting, and Ronald van Zetten, former CEO of HEMA. These three entrepreneurs want to "develop an attractive proposition for the consumer" in cooperation with the bankrupt department store's main suppliers and new parties. They plan to soon launch an online store for "the new V&D", along with an accompanying app. It is not clear when these will launch.
