Court to rule on French terror suspect's extradition

The court in Amsterdam will rule on Thursday on whether suspected terrorist Anis B. can be extradited to France, the Telegraaf reports. B. was arrested in Rotterdam in March at France's request after he was identified in a terrorism investigation in the country. B. is fighting his extradition because he fears being sentenced to life in prison with no prospect of release. According to his lawyer, Elpiniki Kolokatsi, B. will also face inhumane treatment in a French prison and the European arrest warrant against him does not meet all the requirements. The Public Prosecutor believes that B. should be handed over to the French authorities. The lawyer's claim of inhumane treatment is unfounded and according to the French prosecutor B. can only get up to 20 years in prison. B. was arrested in Rotterdam. When searching the apartment on Meinsezlaan where he was staying, the police found 45 kilograms of 7.62 caliber ammunition, which can be used in Kalashnikovs.
