Mistaken identity cause of another Amsterdam fatal shooting

Another victim of a gang-related assassination in Amsterdam seems to be a case of mistaken identity. Youssef el Kahtoui from Zaandam was not the intended target of the De Clerqstraat shooting in which he was killed in May last year, Amsterdam prosecutor Hetty Hoekstra said on AT5 program Misdaad BV. The Public Prosecutor believes that Samir Z. was the intended target in this shooting. A few months earlier he was also the target of an attempted assassination. And in July 2014 he was injured when an explosive attached to his scooter blew up. The police released surveillance camera footage following el Kahtoui's murder. The video shows the victim being gunned down as he got out of his car. A tram passing behind was also hit, but luckily no one inside was injured. El Kahtoui is not the only wrong target to be killed in an Amsterdam assassination. On October 15th last year 37-year-old Haydar Zengin was gunned down in the office where he did part time work on Derkinderstraat in Amsterdam. On November 11th there was another shooting in the same building, this time hitting what is believed to be the intended target. The man was critically injured but survived. . Zengin's family stated that there is a striking physical resemblance between the two victims. In January last year 60-year-old Beyhan Demicri was shot and killed while smoking a cigarette on the balcony of her apartment on Pieter van der Werfstraat. The police believe the intended target was her son-in-law, who often smoked on the same balcony and is known to have links to the criminal world. Before that Ghana-born dishwasher Augustine Nyantakyi was gunned down in Amsterdam Zuidoost, and family man Stefan Regalo Eggermont was shot on the street in Amsterdam Centrum. https://youtu.be/ixbAsPepiQM
