Police-involved shooting leaves one hurt in Breda
A 41-year-old man was injured in a police-involves shooting in Breda on Wednesday. The shooting happened in a home on Pietersberg while a SWAT team was arresting the man as part of a criminal investigation, according to the police.
According to BredaVandaag, three shots were fired. The man eventually ended up on a grass-field after being hit. He was taken to the hospital. He is stable and not in any life-threatening danger, newspaper AD reports.
According to AD, the 41-year-old man is the father of NAC player Grad Damen. Exactly why the police were arresting him is unclear. Grad Damen was with his team training in Zundert at the time of the shooting.
As is standard procedure in any police-involved shooting, the incident is being investigated by the Rijksrecherche - the department that handles internal investigations at the police.
