Netherlands names new Air Force leader

Major General Dennis Luyt will be taking over as commander of the Air Force from Lieutenant General Sander Schnitger on June 10th, the Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday. Luyt will be promoted to Lieutenant General on June 1st. He started his military career in 1981 and is trained as a pilot. He currently works at the Defense Staff. Previous positions include commander of air bases in Twente and Leeuwarden. He also worked for the international force ISAF in Afghanistan in 2007.
