Asylum seekers forced into prostitution; Limburg man charged
A 26-year-old man from Grathem in Limburg is suspected of forcing women living in the asylum center in Gilze into prostitution. One victim is a Ukrainian woman in her fifties, Omroep Brabant reports.
According to the Prosecutor, the suspect abused at least one vulnerable woman who has trouble speaking the Dutch language. He regularly took his victims out to dinner and then had sex with them in exchange for a small fee. He also made agreements with customers an posted advertisements on the internet.
The man used his car as a mobile sex-spot. It was equipped with sex toys, condoms and even whet wipes to clean the car afterwards. During a pre-trial hearing, the prosecutor compared the car to a shoplifter's bag - fully equipped to commit a crime.
The suspect denied that he coerced anyone into anything. He claims he was good for female asylum seekers.
The trial in this case starts on June 7th. The suspect will remain in custody for the time being.
