Soldier in custody after woman found killed

A soldier was arrested a woman was found dead in a home in Kaatsheuvel on Wednesday morning. The police believe she was murdered. The police responded to the home on Doctor Schaepmanstraat around 5:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a dead body. They found the dead woman in the house. The man was arrested at the same address around 6:00 a.m. He is in custody for further investigation. The police closed down the home and surrounding area for a trace evidence investigation. Officers are also talking to witnesses. As the suspect is a soldier, further investigation will be done by the Koninklijke Marechaussee, a policing force that works as a branch of the military. The suspect was handed over to the Marechaussee. Local residents told Omroep Brabant that the soldier and the woman were partners and had three children together.
