Pharrell Williams takes ownership stake in Dutch label G-Star Raw

American singer and producer Pharrel Williams bought shares in Dutch denim label G-Star Raw and is now the co-owner. He will contribute to the companies collections and strategy, the company announced on Tuesday. Pharrel Williams and G-Star have been working together for some time. Two years ago Williams announced that his company Bionic Yarn entered a long-term cooperation with the denim label. Together they created the line Raw for the Oceans, using yarn Bionic Yarn makes from recycled ocean waste. The size of Williams' share in G-Star was not announce. The label did say that Willams' role will include overseeing the label's collections, advertising and business strategy. Adding that the singer is a good fit for the Dutch label because of his creativity and commitment to innovation. In a press release Williams said: "G-Star is an independently-minded and forward-thinking company. I believe they will be the definitive jeans brand of the 21st century. I am looking forward to be part of that mission and to co-create G-Star's future."
