No injuries in small plane crash at Texel Airport

A small Piper Cadet aircraft crashed at Texel Airport on Saturday afternoon after the pilot misjudged the landing and initiated it too early. Both pilot and the single passenger escaped unharmed, Omroep Flevoland reports. According to the broadcaster, the wheels of the plane's landing gear ended up in a ditch before the runway, bringing the aricraft to an abrupt halt. According to eyewitness and airport master Ed de Bruijn, the crash happened very fast. The aircraft was towed away. The aviation authorities are investigating.
