Vincent van Gogh & Edvard Munch exhibition most attended in 2015

The exhibition of Norwegian artist Edvard Much and his inspiration Vincent van Gogh in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam was the most visited exhibition in 2015, with 585,620 visitors, ANP reports. The exhibition consists of more than a hundred works by the two artists, including masterpieces Starry Night and The Scream. It was the first time the two artists were brought together on such a large scale. According to the museum, the exhibition also drew a striking number of Dutch visitors, 163 thousand in total. That is 28 percent of the total exhibition visitors and double the percentage of Dutch people who normally visit the Van Gogh Museum. The successful exhibition also significantly attributed to the museum receiving a record number of 1.9 million visitors last year.
