CEO bonuses rise at most Dutch public companies

Three quarters of the CEO's at listed Dutch companies are receiving a bigger bonus this year, according to the annual remuneration survey by Vlerick Business School among 669 listed companies in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Britain and France, ANF reports. Bonuses in the Netherlands showed the biggest increase. According to the researchers, this can be attributed to the economic improvement and the "jubilant behavior" it brought with it. Last year the Dutch CEO's received the lowest increase. The study also found that, on average, foreign CEO's in the Netherlands earn more than CEO's in their own countries. About a quarter of the CEO's in the Netherlands are of other nationality. Only 3.3 percent of the listed companies in the Netherlands have a female CEO, putting the Netherlands far behind neighbor Belgium where 8.3 percent have women as CEO.
