This service offers specialized legal assistance and compensation in almost all situations involving identity theft, reputation damage on the internet, online shopping that went wrong and fraudulent use of online payments. "We are very pleased with the expansion of the partnership with AXA Assistance. We notice that their is an increasing demand for innovative products that meet the consumers' needs with comfort and assurance", Eric-Jan van den Ber, commercial director at VKG, said in the press release. "The cyber protect insurance brings our intermediaries a fantastic product that offers much protection to the internet consumer. With just one phone call or email after a troublesome incident on the internet, the specialists at AXA will get to work." VKG director Ruud van Kampen explained the service further. According to him, this insurance covers risks that go much further than debit card fraud. "Also harassment on the internet.", he said to broadcaster NOS. "This insurance can help remove incriminating information from the internet. We are talking about damage to reputation." He acknowledged that removing all slander from the internet is a nigh on impossible task. "But the insurer has a team that deals with this 24 hours."
