Roman fountain restoration paid for by Dutch donations

The Fontana dei Libri fountain in Rome is being renovated on Monday with money collected by a Dutch foundation. The foundation "Wij zijn Romeinen" decided to hold a fundraising following the Feyenoord supporter riots in the Italian capital earlier this year. "We want to show a different picture of the Dutchman", Marcella Mul, co-owner of the Dutch magazine about Rome and founder of Wij zijn Romeinen, or We are Romans in English, said to BNR. Mul and other initiators decided to hold a charity evening and managed to raise more then 6,800 euros. The money will not be used on the Barcaccia Fountain, which has already been restored, but the Fontana deil Libri. One of the largest donations came from a Feyenoord supporter who donated 1,900 euros. 44 Feyenoord supporters involved in the riots are appearing in court on Monday.
