Facebook “kill my neighbors” bounty investigated in Amsterdam

A squabble between two neighbors has escalated to the point where one furious Amsterdam resident has announced a 20 thousand euro "guaranteed reward" on Facebook to anyone who kills his neighbor and her friend. According to the Telegraaf, the squabble is between two residents of an apartment complex on Coffijboomstraat in Amsterdam. One of the two wrote on Facebook that he has "one desire in life" which is to "eradicate this devils spawn". He continues that "each head is worth ten thousand euros to me" and that everyone is welcome to come and help. "If I only had the pleasure to personally put out the lights." The quarrel began in 2009 when the woman submitted noise complaints involving her neighbor's greyhounds to housing corporation Ymere. A spokesperson for the police told RTL Nieuws that they are aware of the squabble and that the community police officer has been "busy with it for a long time". "Those involved file reports of vandalism, threats and abuse back and forth against each other. We have also received a report of this Facebook threat. The detectives are investigating." the spokesperson said, adding that "happily" this type of conflict is not common in Amsterdam.
