Dutch PM Rutte loses support amid Greece deal

The new aid package for Greece has had a rather negative effect on support and confidence in Prime Minister Mark Rutte, according to the latest poll by Maurice de Hond. According to the poll, 25 percent of Dutch voters now feel more negative towards the Prime Minister. 40 percent indicated that they were negative and remain negative towards Rutte. Only 5 percent indicated that their opinion of him increased. PvdA Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem of Finance, and Eurogroup chairman, is coming out of this new Greece deal in a more positive light. Dutch voters' opinion on the Minister was and remains positive, particularly in people who vote for the D66 and CDA. Half of Dutch voters think that the Netherlands should have voted against aid for Greece. The PVV voters are the most negative about the outcome of the negotiations, with 95 percent indicating that the Netherlands should have voted differently. Forty percent of Dutch voters believe that the Netherlands acted correctly when voting for aid for the financially trouble country, with the D66 voters being most positive about the outcome. Under the influence of developments in Greece, the VVD lost two seats this week, dropping down to 24 seats. The PVV and 50PLUS each gained one seat.
