DSM commits profit share to Nepal relief

The chemicals producer DSM is going to contribute part of the profits to help alleviate the consequences of the earthquake in Nepal, reports BRN. CEO of the company, Feike Sijbesma is calling onto other companies to join the initiative. “It is a huge disaster. Thousands are dead, millions in famine and millions displaced,” Sijbesma said. “Suppose that you lived there or that such disaster happened here and you are a mother or a father of a family. What do you want then? Help.” DSM is also calling onto its own employees and shareholders to contribute to the initiative. “We are also providing products that are rich in vitamins and minerals through the World Food Program and the United Nations, and we provide knowledge about nutrition.” Individuals have provided 13.6 million in contributions to Nepal on the Giro 555 website.
