Suspected drunk driver charged with manslaughter in baby's death

A suspected drunk driver arrested after a hit-and-run killed a baby and injured a father last Thursday in Lutten, Overijssel, is now held on suspicion of manslaughter. He was brought in front of a judge on Tuesday afternoon with the Public Prosecutor demanding a 14-day extension of his remand. An alcohol test was conducted but the results were not released. The man from Hardenberg is also under investigation for attempted manslaughter of the father. The suspect drove into a father pushing a baby stroller while walking down a road. The driver fled the scene immediately but turned himself in the next day.
