Alert out for missing Gelderland family; house ransacked

A family with 5 children from Doorwerth has been missing since Sunday. The police have put out an alert, asking civilians to keep a look out for the family's car - a black Citroen C5 Break with the license plate 34-JT-TR. A diving team searched the Rijn bij Renkoum for the car, but found nothing. The police will try again later today. They are also trying to trace the family in other ways. Detectives have also started a technical investigation in the family's home on Johanniterhof in Doorweth. The area around the house has been closed off. According to reporter Jeroen Makel, the house has been ransacked, Omroep Gelderland reports. "There are feathers everywhere. The couch has been torn apart and the boards seem to have been pulled loose. The rent was also canceled per March 15th." Thus far not much is known about the family. The family consists of a mother (American), father and 5 children between the ages of 1 and 10 years. The youngest child was allegedly born in the house. According to neighbors, the family had only been living in the home for about 7 months. According to the director of the elementary school De Wegwijzer, also in Doorwerth, some of the children attended his school. Three of the now missing children had a farewell party at the school on Friday, he states. The family was allegedly leaving for America. https://twitter.com/ThomasWustman/status/574906851097182208/
