Dutchman behind Somalia suicide attack accused in other crimes

The Dutch Somali who committed a suicide attack on a hotel in Mogadishu last week, was also involved in previous attacks, NU reports. According to articles from Somali media, Ismail Muse Ahmed Guled was previously involved in an attempted attack on another hotel in the city as well as in the attack in Djibouti in 2014. Guled allegedly supported a terrorist who wanted to commit a suicide attack in a hotel with a laptop full of explosives This attack failed. Guled was recognized on footage taken by the security cameras. He was also involved in an attack on a restaurant in Djibouti last year. According to the newspaper, Guled was the mastermind behind the attack. Six Dutch soldiers were slightly injured in this attack, as well as some of the restaurant's customers. al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack, the same terrorist group that also claimed the attack last week. The attack on a hotel in Mogadishu on Friday left at least 25 people dead. According to the French news agency AFP, Guled was working with a woman, Lula Ahmed Dahir, in the attack. Both had Dutch passports. Guled supposedly lived in Tilburg.
