Second imam gala under investigation by parliament

Parliament Members have raised questions in the Tweede Kamer (lower house of parliament) about a charity gala happening in Utrecht on March 1st, AD reports. The controversial Sheikh Assim Al-Hakeem is invited to speak there. Pieter Omtzigt (CDA) and Gert-Jan Segers (ChristenUnie) wants to know from Minister Bert Koenders (Foreign Affairs) and Minister Ivo Opstelten (Security and Justice) whether visas have been issued for the foreign guest-speakers. According to the parliamentarians, this event is similar to the one in Rijswijk on March 9th. Earlier this week Minister Koenders decided to revoke the visas of three of the guest speakers. Assim Al-Hakeem comes from Saudi Arabia and is known as a fundamentalist who believes that Jews and Christians who insult the Prophet Mohammad should be killed, according to the newspaper. The charity gala in Utrecht is organised by World Wide Relief in Hilversum and will take place in the Partycentrum Luxury.
