Gov't: no knowledge of passenger jet threat pre-MH17

The Dutch government had no information about a specific threat against passenger aircraft flying over eastern Ukraine at an altitude above 9.7 kilometers, the Cabinet wrote in response to Chamber questions regarding the disaster with flight MH17. Flight MH17 flew at an altitude of 10 kilometers. On July 14th, 2014, three days before the disaster, there was a meeting that a Dutch diplomat attended. During the meeting it was reported that an Antonov aircraft was shot down at 6.3 kilometers altitude. According to the Cabinet, there were reports of anti-aircraft weapons at the meeting, but what specific weapon had been used was unknown. The Cabinet refuses to make a report of that meeting pubic, despite the insistence of the opposition in the Second Chamber. The essence of the meeting was "on the same day sent to the Ministry of Security and Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of General Affairs". No airlines shifted their routes following the meeting. Airlines that were already avoiding the Ukraine, had been doing so since April due to the unrest in the Crimea.
