World's fastest bike team needs new pilot

Students of the VU and TU Delft are looking for a new speed demon to help beat the world record for recumbent bikes. The current record, established last year by these students themselves, is 133.78 kilometers per hour. The new man or woman who will ride the new VeloX V should ideally be about 1.8 tall, have a shoe size smaller than 43 and a good dose of courage. The participants will be selected during special selection days. The successful candidate will then receive a year long professional guidance to break the world speed record in the Nevada desert. The Nevada desert has the world's flattest roads. Teams from all over the world gather there to race at the annual World Human Powered Speed Challenge in Battle Mountain. Since 2010 the students of the VU and TU Delft have been developing special aerodynamic recumbent bicycles which can participate in the competition.
