Three teens arrested after police chase

On Wednesday morning around 01:00 a.m. the police arrested three teenagers for stealing a car. During a surveillance police officers noticed a car that was reported stolen last week. The officers signaled the car to stop, but the driver ignored this and sped away. On Spoorlaan the police placed a spike strip to stop the vehicle. The driver managed to avoid the strip, but lost control of the vehicle and hit an oncoming car. The driver and two passengers then fled on foot. After a brief chase the police arrested the three suspects. The suspects are a 15, 16 and 17 year old from IJmuiden. The driver of the other vehicle in the collision was not injured.
