Massive underworld trial to span 25 days in January

On Tuesday the court in Haalrem starts working on the mega trail around the Andes-investigation, in which Danny K., Dick V. and Willem Holleeder, among others, appear as suspects. 25 hearing days have been allocated to this process. The Public Prosecutor hopes to have the penalty demands ready in January. The "Andes" investigation - which has 14 suspects in total - revolves around a litany criminal offences, including laundering of criminal money, extortion, threats, assault and drug trafficking. Justice considers the group of suspects as representatives of the so-called Dutch networks - organized gangs in the Dutch underworld that consist mostly of Dutch criminals.
