Money left on ABN Amro Chipknip goes to account holders

ABN Amro has found a way to automatically withdraw the money from its customers Chipknips after January 1st and deposit it into their accounts. This involves about 14 million euro. According to the Payments Association, there is still an estimated total of 85 million euro on the chipknips. Banks have been running campaigns to convince their customers to empty their chipckinps before January 1st. On January 1st the payment system shuts down and then it will be a lot more complicated to empty the chip. ABN Amro has now found a way to empty the chipknips automatically in 2015. "We keep track of how much money is left on the chipknip of our customers. Currently it is about 14 million euro." says Brigitte Seegers of ABN Amro.
