Els Borst honoured at D66 conference

The D66 commemorated Els Borst during their 100th party congress in Den Bosch on Saturday. The former health minister and deputy prime minister was found dead at her home in Bilthoven in February. During the meeting, the present party members held a minute of silence. A portrait of Borst was also displayed. The police assume that the former politician was killed by someone with a mental disorder. The case has not yet been solved. The 100th congress was also the kick off of the campaign for the regional elections of March next year. Thom de Graaf was elected leader of the party for the First Chamber. The D66 is performing well in the polls. According to the Peilingwijzer of October 11th, the party could count on 20 seats in the Second Chamber, a gain of eight seats.
