Arms dealer arrested in street executions investigation

Last week the police have arrested a man who deals in heavy firearms. The arrest is part of the large investigation into the series of executions that have been happening in Amsterdam for two years. "The search took place last week. Several heavy firearms were found in this person's possession, they were seized." said Chief of police Pieter-Jaap Aalbersberg yesterday in the AT5 program Het Verhoor. In addition to those directly involved, such as gunmen, the police are also looking for suppliers of, for example, firearms. Aalbersberg added that the police preformed two more raids last week, but nothing was found. A fierce battle has been raging in the Amsterdam underworld for more than two years. Ten people have died in the various executions, often performed with heavy firearms. The innocent Stefan Eggermont was killed in the conflict, due to recklessness of the perpetrators. Two other bystanders were wounded in another shooting.
